ABOUT US
SLUZU is an independent art brand founded by two friends from the Netherlands.
Michael and Nick met through a mutual friend and became part of the same group of friends. As that group grew apart, their friendship remained. Shared interests, conversations and similar views on life created a connection that eventually became the foundation for something they wanted to build together.
SLUZU started with a simple ambition: to create something of our own, keep challenging ourselves and see how far we could take it together.
That same idea of connection sits at the heart of SLUZU.
Our work brings together miniature figures and textured surfaces. Neither exists simply to support the other. The figure gives the texture meaning, while the texture gives the figure a world to exist in.
The same relationship exists within SLUZU. We each bring something different to the brand. One might create the artwork, while the other shapes what happens behind the scenes. Different roles, but neither works without the other.
Without the figure, the texture is only a surface. Without the texture, the figure is only a miniature. Together, they become something else.
We work within one recognisable visual language, while each collection explores a different subject or world. The scenes we create are intentional, but their meaning is personal. A piece might remind someone of a place, a memory, an experience or simply a feeling of their own.
Our ambition is to grow SLUZU into a collectible art brand. One-of-one originals will remain at the heart of what we do, while future collections will extend into limited editions, prints and other forms of collectible art.
